Session types

Ways
we run.

Every Wednesday we split into groups by the kind of session people want to do — you pick, we find the buddy pace to match.

You decide what you want to get from your Wednesday run and find a buddy group who matches your chosen goal that week.

Interval blocks Optional extra

Offered as an optional extra several times a year, often rounded off with a trip to the track or a 3k time trial to celebrate your progress.

Common questions

Things people
ask before
turning up.

How fast do I need to be? +

Our regular club groups ask that you can run 5k in around 36 minutes. Not there yet? Get in touch and we'll add you to the list for our next Couch-to-5k intake.

Do I need any special kit? +

Trainers and something comfortable to run in is genuinely all you need to start. A head torch is a wise winter purchase. Once you're a member you'll have the option of a club vest.

What about parking? +

Parking isn't free (currently £1 after 5pm), but paying with the RingGo app is quick and straightforward. The car park gets busy by 18:40 — turn up by 18:35 if you can.

Do I have to race? +

Not at all. Plenty of members never wear a number — they're here for the training and the company. The club championship is opt-in.

Can I try before I join? +

Yes — for two weeks. Register your interest first via the Join page so we know to expect you, then come down to as many sessions as you fancy.

First Wednesday

This Wednesday,
be there.

Apply to join, then come along to the next club run at the University of Northampton. We'll save you a parking space.
